Cbeyond Review: SCStoves

05/19/10

Pros:

Attractive Sales Representatives, Nice Logo

Cons:

Poor Site Surveys, Incompatible Equipment, Dropped Calls, Service Interruptions, Service Outages, Poor Customer Support, Ludicrously Overpriced, Poor Website Management Tools, Slow T1 Speeds, No Phone Service for a Month (!)

Other Thoughts:

I am a business owner in California who made the mistake of signing a contract with C-Beyond in March 2010. It was one of the worst mistakes I have ever made as a business owner, and I am still paying the price for it.
The largest of many problems was that their T1 routers misread every phone number dialed out by our (new) PBX, resulting in a 100% loss of outgoing calls. C-Beyond informed me that the problem was with my phone equipment and not their routers. After spending $800 on phone testing and tech support, it was determined that the problems were, in fact, with C-Beyond's routers. However, C-Beyond was unwilling/unable to do anything about it. Simply put, my existing equipment was incompatible with C Beyond's, and could not be made to work at all. This all should have been determined at the time of sale, but the eager young sales representative was too busy salivating over the contract to do a proper site survey.
I spent a full month without use of my phone system, which nearly crippled my business, until I could switch back to AT&T. C Beyond is completely unresponsive to any and all requests for support once they realize you are not happy with them. They are still trying to bill me $1,500 for services they completely failed to provide.
Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this telecom provider. I wish I had.

Cbeyond Review: Bar The Door

11/19/09

Pros:

Will not take no for an answer! Local sales rep for CBeyond ignores No Solicitation signs posted in our office building and relentlessly presses for business cards and contact information. I refused and plainly stated zero interest multiple times.

Cons:

After two visits to our offices and googling our company name, then came the phone calls. It's just insulting that they do not listen or even care about what you are telling them. Like the Terminator, they absolutely, positively just won't stop.

Other Thoughts:

You can't bully or bore someone into buying something from you.

Cbeyond Review: Minneapolis

Pros:

They are crooks and liars.

Cons:

They won’t leave you alone. They will call after you asked them to stop calling and will walk past do “not enter signs” and into your network room, they lie that they are not a telecommunication company and will not provide technical information. Once they concluded that there was not going to be a sale-They phoned and yelled at staff (no kidding) name calling, called after being asked not to call. Would not leave office when asked to leave.

Other Thoughts:

When I told them that the reviews on the internet were poor-They told me sites like this one are set up by their competition.

Cbeyond Review: Daniel

07/29/09

Pros:

The applications Cbeyond provides have been amazing for my business. I am constantly using their applications that allow me to work from home. The amount of back up they provide is quite minimal, but definitely not a deal breaker.

Cons:

The Sales force was definitely quite pushy, and their reps are stopping by once every 2 months to try and sell. They have no idea who the customers are. It gets quite annoying, but is a small price to pay for the value that the service provides.

Other Thoughts:

All the people who continue to talk about the downtime probably were given bad vendors. My sales rep from Los Angeles described in detail the importance of having competent vendors on the install. We were so happy with the vendor the rep recommended that we now use his company for our IT services. MAKE SURE YOU ARE GIVEN A COMPETENT PHONE AND LAN VENDOR FROM THE SALES REP. It will drastically affect your service. I have never had an interruption since I signed a year and a half ago.

Cbeyond Review: Total Joke

03/06/09

Pros:

they ar5e a total joke, they care nothing about their customers - just collecting money

Cons:

2 days of downtime got me$70 bucks in proation (My sip/data service costs my $1,000/mo.)- there SLA is a TOTAL LIE!!!! after a few hours you stop getting paid - a smart move for them as they go down all the time

Other Thoughts:

their salesman lie through their teeth. On T1 prise, uptime and SLA - dont let .

the most unethical crooks out there.

Cbeyond Review: Scam Of The Century

01/12/09

Pros:

when its not down, the service is awesome and quality/speed is great. For what you get (internet and VoIP) the price is pretty good.

Cons:

The service frequently goes out. You sign a contract for a monthly fixed price of like $500, yet it ALWAYS comes out closer to $800-900/mo. Their support is incompentent (I feel like their level 3 techs are hired off the street w/ NO training)

Other Thoughts:

Here is my story: One day my tech (Gary Boyle from Aurora IT Consulting) mentions the savings i can get with a Beyond Voice package. I trust Gary and he does good work, so i agree to meet with with his "friend" Ernie Mcilquham, or Mcillenham or something. He seems like a nice guy and has won all these awards for top sales rep so i figure he must be a trusted sales rep if he is always winning all these awards.(i'll find out later that he receives all these awards because he is a complete con artist; but ill get to that later)

Ernie lays out all this paperwork infront of me explaining how much money i will be saving(i was so excited!) then page by page he turns the 28 page contract telling me what each page talks about and where to initial. Like an idiot, i sign without reading because i trusted that Ernie was telling me the truth - WRONG, worng!!!!

2 months into the service the outages begin, a few hours here, 4-6 hours there, and yes, even a few times where it was out for days!!!!

To my regreat i find that im stuck paying for a 3 year contract on CRAP service and 90% of the items Ernie said i was signing on my contract were LIES!

The SLA is a joke - 50 bucks for almost 6 hours of downtime - Ernie said if it was down for 6+ hours my bill would be cut in half

The price you pay is a Lie - Ernie said it would run around 500 a month (plus taxes) and most months it runs between $800-$900. i asked Ernie my out the door cost each month and he said $600 max, another Lie from Ernie.

Their techs know NOTHING! - there has been two instances where out service has gone out and the tech had no idea how to SSH into the IAD and reset the password. I had to hire a Cisco tech and pay him out of pocket - a theme it seems others that have posted also share.

When i call Cbeyond corporate headquarters to complain about Ernie they tell me that im lying and Ernie would have never said that???? Are you kidding me? I wish i had recorded when Ernie was having my sign contracts - lie after lie.

Im now stuck paying $800 bucks a month on a service i dont even use because its sooooo unreliable.

Local OC Business BEWARE of Ernie and Cbeyond!

Cons:

Cbeyond is OK until you have a problem, then you're up river without a paddle. I'd recommend someone else who can offer a little more and actually help you when the system goes down, which happens frequently.

Cbeyond Review: Sandoval 84

08/17/08

Pros:

they worked flawlessesly, BUT for only 2 months, then all hell BROKE lose

Cons:

downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime, downtime

Other Thoughts:

had it for a year now, and have had over 200+ hours of downtime (yes i keep an excel log)

to top it all off, they hire people off the street or so it seems to run their NOC. For god sakes, one tech was stuck rebuilding the config on the IAD because he didnt know the commands. I literally had to call up a cisco tech and pay him $250/hr. just to tell cBeyond how to do their job. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!

there SLA is the WORST on the plannet, dont be fooled, read the fine print. they will compensate you 1 day of you bill for every hour of downtime, BUT ONLY UP TO 5 HOURS!!!!

After that you get nothing!!!

And i have had 6 occasions where it has been down for 24hrs+
and 11 occasions where it has been down for over 5hrs+.

and i get like 200 bucks off a 2900 bill, are you kidding me (the sla discount is only for spoecific things, not the entire bill...also a crock)
